After trying for 2 hours installing MySQL Cluster CGE for development environment, i’ve been stucked when installing mysql cluster bundle in one of the node. I’m using 5 node, 2 node for SQL, 2 node for Data, and 1 node for Management node. Unfortunately there is error when i try to install in 1 node of SQL node. There is no error message when rpm installer running. Just installing on step 1 and then stopped without errors, neither do a success message.
I checked on log, there’s nothing, but i see on mysql log it seems that that mysql already running before. So i need to clean up old mysql installation, here u go
1. Check whether old installation exist or not, in ubuntu or debian you can check it with apt#rpm -qa | grep mysql
or
#yum list installed | grep mysql
2. Remove all mysql component installed
#yum remove mysql-client mysql-server mysql-common mysql-devel
3. Clean up installation directory, you can rename the folder if you need the old data.
#rm -rf /var/lib/mysql/
My MySQL Cluster installation was error because it check the old data in /var/lib/mysql. Thats why removing this will solve my problem
#rm -rf /etc/my.cnf
4. Reinstall MySQL server
Done, it should work like a charm. Dattebayo!
Thank you, exactly what i needed! I had tried removing/reinstall, changing permissions, and edit conf files, but none work. This was the solution i needed!
i’m glad it could help
